August Sun will enter into a partnership in which Acort International will distribute Death Camp in foreign territories. The announcement was made by August Sun Productions CEO Robert J. Locke and Darrin Ramage of Acort International. Death Camp will begin principal photography this summer.
“Acort International is one of the top horror distributors in the world, and Darrin and Robert have known each other for more than 10 years,” commented Locke. “A horror film like Death Camp will resonate with audiences around the world in all international markets. Acort has a strong track record of putting great films in front of large audiences. We look forward to working with Darrin and Acort scaring audiences around the world.”
“Acort International is proud to announce our distribution partnership with industry veteran and August Sun Productions CEO Robert J. Locke,” said Darrin Ramage, President and CEO of Acort International. “Our upcoming release of the film Death Camp will be distributed far and wide by our great team of distribution experts. Horror is what we specialize in, and we plan to push this out to every goblin, ghoul, and gorehound with an international taste for the genre. Having known Robert for more than 10 years, it was a no-brainer that we would partner up on a horror title of such great promise.”
About Death Camp:
Death Camp is a supernatural thriller about a group of teens that go out into the woods to do some witchcraft and then unleash Hell.
From the producer/director behind Lionsgate’s Legend of Bloody Mary, Robert J. Locke, Jr., and John Stecenko, Death Camp is written by studio screenwriter Lisa Marie Brennan, who has been writing scary stories since the age of 7 and screenplays for the last 12 years. This will be the funniest, scariest horror film seen in years on the big screen!
Robert will be directing Death Camp, and John will be producing, marking their fifth collaboration. The entire filmmaking team is sensitive to the fact that the words “Death Camp” have a very serious connotation. Director Locke visited the Dachau concentration camp in 1988 and vowed to do everything in his power to make sure it never happens again.
If our movie sparks a conversation between young people and older people about what exactly a Death Camp is, all the better.
