First Casting News: Jon Bernthal is First Among The Walking Dead
Finally some sold casting news has hit for Frank Darabont’s small screen adaptation of the Robert Kirkman zombie epic The Walking Dead for AMC! Words alone cannot describe how excited we are for this one!
According to The Hollywood Reporter The Ghost Writer co-star Jon Bernthal (pictured right) is the first actor cast in what is probably the biggest thing to happen to fans of flesh-eaters in quite some time. He also appeared in the short-lived TV series “Eastwick”.
Bernthal will be playing story lead Rick Grimes’ partner and best friend Shane, who looks after Rick’s wife and son until Rick catches up with them.
The Walking Dead is based on Robert Kirkman’s popular comic book. It chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse. Frank Darabont is the project’s writer, director, and exec producer with Anne Hurd and David Alpert also exec producing.
