A Serial Killer Stalks a Young Couple in Trailer for Himeanōru

Based on Minoru Furuya’s manga series of the same name, the upcoming Japanese film Himeanōru follows a young couple who find themselves being stalked by an obsessive serial killer who also happens to be the boyfriend’s former classmate.
It opens in Japan on May 28, with Keisuke Yoshida directing. Unfortunately the trailer doesn’t contain English subtitles, but it does do a good job of misleading you into believing that you’re in for a romantic comedy before abruptly changing into something much darker.
The trailer informs us that it’s been rated R15+ in Japan, which means that it will be nasty as hell (Blade II and 28 Days Later were both given the lower PG-12 rating over there), so we’ll definitely be keeping our ears open for an international release.
