Things have been quiet pertaining to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s starring role in the upcoming adaptation of the 1986 arcade game Rampage, but the silence has been broken. Variety is now reporting that Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal have been tapped to rewrite New Line’s tentpole flick.

San Andreas helmer Brad Peyton is directing with Beau Flynn producing. This marks a San Andreas reteaming between the three and Cuse, who wrote the big-budget disaster pic that went on to make $474 million worldwide.

Ryan Engle penned a previous draft. Plot details are being kept under wraps. In the video game, players were tasked with stopping a giant gorilla, a lizard, and a wolf as they wreak havoc across America.
