Writing Duo Found for Paramount’s Damn Nation

Damn NationBack in March Paramount execs indicated they wanted to “fast track” their comic-book-to-film adaptation of Damn Nation, and now some nine months later the project finally has a writing team: Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz.

THR’s Heat Vision Blog‘s story about the duo lead off with a mention of their involvement with Marvel’s Thor, but my interest wasn’t really piqued until the last paragraph, which stated they also wrote for Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (and Fringe, too).

As for Damn Nation, it’s a futuristic vampire project being produced by Dark Horse Entertainment. The film is based on a comic written by Andrew Cosby (who is exec producing with his Boom! Studios partner Ross Ritchie) with art by Jason Alexander (not the “Seinfeld” actor.)

Set in a U.S. evacuated after an attack from “inhuman nocturnal predators,” the comic tells the tale of the survivors after the government has been forced to relocate to London while scientists search for a solution.

Here’s the synopsis that ran with our original story:

The United States is shut off from the world by concrete barricades and barbed wire – not because of what might get in, but what might get out. A vampire plague has spread from sea to shining sea and when a small holdout of scientists trapped outside of Buffalo, N.Y. discover a cure, it’s up to a Special Ops team from the President’s current offices in London to go in and get it. Yet, not everyone in the world wants to see America back in the saddle again …
