From the Press Release:
Worldwide distribution rights for Diablo Entertainment’s inaugural titles RECOVERY and THE REMAINS have been acquired by Vertical Entertainment. The announcement was made today by Diablo Entertainment’s Eric B. Fleischman and Vertical Entertainment Co-President Rich Goldberg. Vertical Entertainment will release both films in late 2016.

Directed by Darrell Wheat and written by Kyle Arrington and Darrell Wheat, RECOVERY follows Jessie (Kirby Bliss Blanton) and her friends the night before their high school graduation as they are guided by a ‘Find My iPhone’ app to recover her lost device from a house whose demented tenants intend on making her a flesh and blood member of the family. The film is produced by Diablo Entertainment’s Eric B. Fleischman and Sean Tabibian.

THE REMAINS is written and directed by Thomas Della Bella. After a family moves into an old Victorian home, they discover a chest in the attic containing antiques tainted by a malevolent spirit. As the antiques slowly possess each family member, the spirit grows stronger, hellbent on kidnapping the children. The film is produced by Diablo Entertainment’s Eric B. Fleischman and Sean Tabibian.

“Thomas and Darrell are two of the most talented young filmmakers working in the genre space today, and we are thrilled that Diablo can connect their creative vision with audiences through this deal with Vertical Entertainment,” commented Diablo Entertainment’s Eric B. Fleischman. “Given their impressive track record, particularly with genre films, Vertical is a perfect fit for RECOVERY and THE REMAINS.”

Vertical Entertainment Co-President Rich Goldberg added, “As soon as we saw Darrell Wheat’s RECOVERY and Thomas Della Bella’s THE REMAINS, we knew we had discovered two special, truly unique films. We are excited to present these films to audiences worldwide.”

Both deals were negotiated by CAA on behalf of Diablo Entertainment and Rich Goldberg and Peter Jarowey of Vertical Entertainment.

Diablo Entertainment will next present two titles at the upcoming 2016 Sundance Film Festival – CARNAGE PARK from writer/director Mickey Keating (Pod, Darling) starring Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism) and Pat Healy (Compliance, Cheap Thrills) and SLEIGHT, the directorial debut of JD Dillard starring Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner) and Dulé Hill (Psych, The West Wing). Distribution rights are available for each film, with CAA representing both titles.
