Video Trailer for del Toro and Hogan’s The Strain
It seems like the latest new thing in literary promotions is a video trailer for upcoming novels. And there isn’t a more highly anticipated book on the horizon than Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s co-written The Strain, so of course it’s gone viral too!
Thanks to Wired.com we’ve got a glimpse of the gory horrors that await upon The Strain’s printed pages.
There’s also an excerpt from an interview with Del Toro in which he says he teamed with award-winning crime writer Hogan to give The Strain the feel of a science-injected modern television show (which is ironic, because the novel began as del Toro’s outline for a vampire TV series). “I’m not good at forensic novels,” del Toro told Wired magazine. “When [Bram] Stoker wrote Dracula, it was very modern, a CSI sort of novel. I wanted to give The Strain a procedural feel, where everything seems real.”
The Strain (review) hits bookstore shelves this Tuesday, June 2nd, from the William Morrow division of HarperCollins.
