First Look at A Mannequin in Static
Here at Dread Central we’re always on the lookout for interesting sounding indie projects, so we were intrigued by an email we received today from Josh Hasty, a filmmaker from Cincinnati, Ohio, who is currently wrapping up production on his first feature film titled A Mannequin in Static.
The synopsis is as follows: Haunted by the stigma of their complicated pasts, 17-year-old Alex and his mother, Anne, are starting new lives together. Hidden from the truth, Alex finds himself feeling disconnected from the physical world he lives in and begins finding places to live inside his head through the stories he writes.
Life begins to take a pleasant turn when Alex finds himself falling for his new best friend, Ashley. But as Alex begins to discover the truth about himself and the lies that create the world around him, he finds that he is living alone in his own world. However, the world he has created in his head is soon discovered to be no safer than the world that drove him there.

And that’s not all Hasty has on his plate. He also recently signed on to direct the short film “Judith”, which is being written by Kenny Caperton, creator of The Myers House NC, a life-size replica of the infamous Michael Myers house from John Carpenter’s Halloween. “Judith” begins filming this September at the Myers House.
Keep it here; we should have more on both projects soon!
