Why Did Jamie Lee Curtis Return for HALLOWEEN II?

This October we will see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis to the role of Laurie Strode in Blumhouse’s Halloween directed by David Gordon Green. It’s always awesome to see Jamie Lee return to the series, even if she only returned to Halloween H20 for the paycheck…

Anyhow, that piece about Halloween H20 got me thinking, “Why did JLC return for the other sequels?” I found the answer over at WeGotThisCovered where Jamie Lee told them why she returned for Halloween II.

The truth of the matter is I did Halloween 1 and 2 because Halloween 2 picked up exactly where Halloween 1 left off,” Curtis said. “I felt I owed it to the people who loved the original movie. I had already done Prom Night, Terror Train, kind of a bad thriller called Road Games in Australia, and then I did Halloween 2. I knew, if I knew anything, that it was time to say no more because if I hadn’t I would never have been able to do anything more and I knew that.”

The sequel was directed by Rick Rosenthal from a script written by John Carpenter and Debra Hill and starred Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence, Charles Cyphers, and Lance Guest.

Synopsis:

After failing to kill stubborn survivor Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) and taking a bullet or six from former psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence), Michael Myers (Dick Warlock) has followed Laurie to the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where she’s been admitted for Myers’ attempt on her life. The institution proves to be particularly suited to serial killers, however, as Myers cuts, stabs and slashes his way through hospital staff to reach his favorite victim.
