On February 11th Capcom announced at X10 that Dead Rising 2’s release date is August 31st in North America with Japanese and European release dates to follow shortly after. As far as we're concerned, you can never have too many zombies movies. Except of course for the really low-budget ones where the dead consist of nothing more than people in pale make-up who've been splashed with stage blood. Yeah, you can keep those, thanks.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers behind Zombieland and its upcoming sequel, originally conceived the Zombieland universe as a TV show. Well, obviously that didn't work out, but if you really pay attention to the film, it's hard to deny that it pretty much feels like several bits of episodic television all glued together. Box office success hasn't changed their minds about makin' good on their small screen aspirations though.

There's not much that warms the heart of your old Uncle Creepy more than zombies, especially when they're contained within such a rich universe as the one created by Robert Kirkman in The Walking Dead. Which is why I'm ecstatic to report that a start date has been set for the filming of the pilot for Frank Darabont's The Walking Dead TV adaptation on AMC.
Though I personally was a little disappointed with Zombieland, most people really dug it, and it performed well enough at the box office to warrant a sequel. Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are working hard to make that happen, and when it does, you can expect all the usual suspects to return for another round of undead mayhem. But what else should you expect?
Just looking at these new stills from the new African zombie flick The Dead from co-directors Howard J. Ford and Jonathan Ford instantly makes the theme from Lucio Fulci's Zombie start playing in our heads. We can think of no higher compliment than that!
