This August, Space Goat Production Publishing will unleash the next installment in its critically acclaimed Evil Dead 2 comic books. Dark Ones Rising promises to continue the series in fun, spectacular fashion, and we have a preview right here.
Up until now, the Evil Dead 2 comic books have pitted Ash against the Deadites – who have made his life a living hell since he summoned the forces of the Necronomicon all those years ago – in brand new, inventive ways. In that time he’s faced other unexpected threats – like Adolf Hitler.
Written by Frank Hannah with art by Oscar Bazaldua, Carlos Eduardo, and Chris Summers, the previous Evil Dead 2 story arc involved Annie and Ash locked in battle with the forces of evil in the Mirror Dimension. In order to save Annie, Ash sacrificed himself like the noble stud he is, but the battle is far from over – and with Annie set to burn the Necronomicon, there’s no telling what evils she might unleash next.
Dark Ones Rising will see Ash and Annie face off against Lovecraftian beasts, and – if the preview is anything to go by – it looks set to be another great addition to the Evil Dead mythology. Space Goat continues to expand the Evil Dead universe while encapsulating everything that made it SO GREAT in the first place. This is an essential purchase for fans looking for more madcap adventures with their favorite chainsaw-wielding bad ass.
