Watch Now: GAME OF THRONES Actor Paul Kaye Stars In Sci-Fi/Horror Short DEEP CLEAN

Paul Kaye, who you probably recognize as Thoros of Myr in Game of Thrones, stars in the newly released sci-fi horror short film Deep Clean, which you can watch in the player above. And even if you’re not a fan of Game of Thrones, we still highly recommend Deep Clean, because it’s one of the best mergers of horror and science fiction we’ve seen for quite some time.
Based on an idea from comic artist Krent Able, Deep Clean follows a troubled teen named Alex who is forced into a work placement with his uncle Brian’s repair crew. What Alex doesn’t realize is that his uncle’s real line of work involves blocking up interdimensional portals, and sending the creatures that come through back to where they belong.
In an unusual move for a short film, the hype surrounding Deep Clean’s Kickstarter campaign even led to the film having its very own panel at London’s Comic-Con. Backers raised a total of £28,388, which explains the Hollywood-level production values. The effects were handled by Territory Studio, who also worked on Avengers: Endgame, Guardians of the Galaxy, Bladerunner 2049, and Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, with input from frequent Ben Wheatley collaborator Dan Martin.
Deep Clean was screened at FrightFest Halloween and the London Short Film Festival, in addition to being shown at the prestigious Horse Hospital arts venue as part of Billy Chainsaw’s Nova Nights series. The short was directed by Matt Harlock, who co-wrote the screenplay alongside Able, and also stars Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Tony Way, and Simon Lukacs, with Joshua Glenister as Alex.
