Where the Wild Things Are

A lot of collections hit store shelves this week including three horror sets, a Sherlock Holmes four-pack, three sci-fi quartets, and a package from 20th Century Fox consisting of The Fly, The Omen, and Independence Day in honor of "75 years of award-winning drama". In addition, fans of the series Poltergeist: The Legacy finally get Season 2 on disc, albeit in the form of an on demand recorded DVD-R.

Spike Jonze's adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved children's story Where the Wild Things Are has been met with mixed reactions. So of course our own Rick Trembles has to add his voice to the crowd.

This year's San Diego Comic-Con was full of impressive stars, trailers, and extended previews. But few had as much impact on the crowd as what we saw of Where the Wild Things Are. Now, some four months after the debut of the first trailer, Warner Bros. had gifted us with the second. Prepare to be transported to another place and time filled with pure bliss.
