I do love finding out about potentially cool new movies, especially when they’re about werewolves, after the film is all done and ready to be seen by the masses! Nothing like taking out the pain of anticipation to make a movie that much more appealing.
Now this is the kind of news I just love reporting. Other than my overall adoration for all things horror, it's news like this that makes me happy to have the job I have, allowing me to share this kind of information with our community.
Jason Cuadrado, the Los Angeles filmmaker who made one of the most impressive indie films I’ve seen in a long time, Tales From the Dead (review) dropped me a line last night with some exclusive pics from and news on his latest venture, the short film called “Monstrous Nature”.
Between The Wolfman, Underworld 3 and now Lobo, it’s positively a lycanthropic revolution in horror these days. Our man Tristan checked in a bit ago after sitting down with Underworld: Rise of the Lycans star Rhona Mitra with some more details on the sequel, due out on January 23rd, 2009.
On display at this year’s Comic Con are a bunch of very cool costumes from the upcoming sequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Of course our man Nomad couldn’t stop taking pictures of what they had on hand, so check it out below!
I never once thought the theatrical future of Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans was in question, but I guess it was by some parties. If you're among those parties, allow me to calm your troubled minds; the prequel will, indeed, be in theaters. I know this because Lakeshore Entertainment pres Tom Rosenberg told me.
Just a few days back it was reported that a new Underworld movie was getting ready to roll in New Zealand ("Kiwis in the Underworld" – October 2007), but that was literally all the information we had on it.
There are those who love the Underworld series and those who hate it. If you're a fan of the flicks, I've got good news for you -- and it comes all the way from New Zealand.
