I never once thought the theatrical future of Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans was in question, but I guess it was by some parties. If you're among those parties, allow me to calm your troubled minds; the prequel will, indeed, be in theaters. I know this because Lakeshore Entertainment pres Tom Rosenberg told me.
