Web Series
JimmyO and April Monique Burril, the driving force behind online web series The Chainsaw Sally Show, launched Season Two last week. Now, thanks to the generosity of the Chainsaw Sally team, we have the first episode, "Heinous Crime", right here at Dread Central in its entirety!
The popular high school based web series Throwing Stones is set to run its Season 2 finale this Tuesday, January 24. And fans of the series, check this out…we've got an exclusive still from the big episode just for you. Not to give anything away, but this particular image has a girl, zip ties and a pair of shears.
In the era of SOPA and PIPA, where corporations fight to protect their creative property, some creators have lost the ability to play in the worlds they have created because of deals with those same corporations. One such creator is Daniel Knauf, who brought us the amazing and much missed world of "Carnivale". HBO owns that show and everything surrounding it, leaving Knauf unable to bring closure to the tale or shop it to other sources for continuation.
Levi George, one of the producers of the Australian based animated web series Livin' with Steve, dropped us a line to let us know production has wrapped and the series is going to be released online on the 24th of January on the Movie Extra Web Channel. Check out some screengrabs and the trailer, and then be sure to tune in on the 24th.
She's baaaack. Fans of the psychotic, sexy siren with a saw will be thrilled to know that April Monique Burril and friends are ready to launch The Chainsaw Sally Show Season 2. Sally and all her friends are back, with more blood-letting, boobs and brutality than ever before. Believe the tagline... "Twice the Blood, Half the Clothes".
We've seen a rise in monster hunters lately. Going back to the unforgettable Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer a few years ago, we've recently had Dylan Dog: Dead of Night and of course those crazy kids over at "Death Valley." Now a new slayer of evil is looking to make a name for himself ... and he comes from a very impressive family. Gorehounds, meet Tim Helsing.
Another new web series crossed our path recently, and because yours truly is such a sucker for anything vampire-related, I thought I'd pass on the info. Blood and Bone China, from the UK, is a 12-part Victorian vampire web drama series, created and directed by award-winning Stoke-on-Trent based filmmaker Chris Stone and starring TV's Rachel Shenton as Anna Fitzgerald.
It's been a long time since there’s been anything new from Philip Cook, an industrious low budget filmmaker whose films Invader and Despiser are overlooked gems deserving to be rediscovered. He’s finally back behind the camera with a new web series called Malice that puts a very different spin on the idea of Alice going down the rabbit hole.
You never know what you might find when you check your Facebook page. Just the other day I had a message from Kelly Parks, a writer/producer at Unconventional Films, telling me about the web series Universal Dead. Kelly included the magic word "zombie", so of course we checked it out, and here for you to check out also are the first three episodes!
The first installment of DeadLantern.com's free horror web series Shivers Down Your Spine is now live, and we have it for you right here! In this episode, entitled "Deadbolt", a young girl is visited by more than just trick 'r treaters on Halloween night...
Not everyone looks good battling zombies in a post-apocalyptic world. Sure, Laurie Holden pulls it off very nicely in "The Walking Dead," but she seems to be the exception to the rule. Normally survivors appear to be disheveled, crusty and undoubtedly stinkier than we'd care to imagine. That is, until Triple Burn Productions introduced us to Jessa Kill.
Did you ever wonder if the guy who thought up the one-sheet for The Breakfast Club could have imagined that even decades later people would still be emulating the classic "sitting around" setting for their own projects?
If you've been following the new web series entitled Resident Evil: First Hour, then you know this week sees the debut of the final chapter of the saga. If you haven't seen it yet, don't worry. We have all four episodes right here!
Another new web series crossed our path today, and while it's more on the humor side of the horror-comedy sub-genre, given that it tackles everyday horrors and allows viewers to approach their most acute fears with laughter, we thought it well worth sharing.
Does time fly, or what?!? It's hard to believe a week has already passed and it's time for Episode 3 of the new web series entitled Resident Evil: First Hour, but it's true. Just one episode remains so get to watching!
