‘Evil Dead Rise’: Join Dread Central For A Free Advanced Screening In Washington, DC

Mommy’s with the maggots now and we can’t wait to join her. Lee Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise is coming to theaters on April 21, 2023. But for fans in Washington, DC, you don’t need to wait that long. Dread Central is hosting a free advanced screening of the film on April 6, 2023, at AMC Tysons Corner at 7 PM ET.
In Evil Dead Rise, Deadites come to the big city. After a long journey on the road, Beth (Lily Sullivan) visits her older sister Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland), who is struggling to raise three children alone in a small Los Angeles apartment. However, their reunion is interrupted when they find a strange book hidden in the depths of Ellie’s building, which unleashes flesh-possessing demons.
In his review from SXSW 2023, Dread Central’s Drew Tinnin wrote,
The world of Evil Dead Rise moves beyond the crazed acrobatics of Evil Dead 2 to create a grotesque hybrid that lies somewhere between Raimi’s films and the much darker “re-imagining” from Fede Alvarez. The combination is exhilarating, especially with an amped-up crowd full of deplorable, salivating genre freaks (myself included).
