This scribe hit the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Crush Film’s The Bleeding last night at Sunset 5 in Hollywood, CA, and chatted with the film’s co-star and tattoo artist extraordinaire Kat Von D of the reality series "LA Ink". Von D talked up her role as the sexy vampire Vanya in what is her feature film debut, which was directed by Charles Picerni, as well as riffed on the effects required of her.

The other day we got an e-mail from a fan by the name of “Meat Lover” (doubtful that’s his Christian name…) with a call to rally behind Midnight Meat Train (review) in the hopes that Lionsgate will listen to the fans, for once, and give it a bigger release than its planned 100 theater dumping.

I am not really sure if Lionsgate is trying to derail one of their own films or what, but Midnight Meat Train (review) has been jerked around more times than I can count.

Ryuhei Kitamura's adaptation of Clive Barker's story Midnight Meat Train has seen its fair share of troubles trying to pull out of the station. Near name changes, delays and rumors were bouncing all around, and then word came that the pic was missing its May 16th arrival. Times were looking bleak.

Damn does this news piss me off. Various sources across the industry and the ‘net are reporting that Ryuhei Kitamura’s Midnight Meat Train won’t be pulling into the theatrical station on May 16th as Lionsgate originally planned.

Our man on the scene, Sean Clark, got a chance to visit the set of Midnight Meat Train a few days back (lucky sonofabitch) and told us that it kicked a lot of ass. Of course you’re going to have to wait to read more about it as they’re being tight-lipped on the details for now, but at least you have something to look forward to, right?

Today we were sent over the full synopsis and first pic from the set of on my most anticipated movies of this or any year, Midnight Meat Train. For those of you who have forgotten it’s based on an older Clive Barker story of the same name featured in his Books of Blood collection, and marks the U.S.
