How many names in the All-Time Horror Hall of Fame rank higher than that of Vincent Price? Not too damn many. In the world of horror Vincent Price is Babe Ruth, Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison ... a master and an innovator. He took an entire genre and elevated it with his performances. To celebrate the fact that Price would have turned 100 this year, the Portage Theater in Chicago, Illinois, has a special evening planned.

You don't hear much about horror in Utah, but this October 15th The Vincent Price Legacy with Victoria Price (Vincent's daughter) heads to the historic Murray Theatre, 4961 S. State Street, Murray, UT, for a very special evening. And that's just the beginning. There will also be a screening of The Tingler just like William Castle did it back in the day along with the winners of this year's Demon Chaser Film Challenge.

Undoubtedly, actor Vincent Price’s life-long dedication to art has been long overshadowed by his significant contributions to the horror genre since most fans may not even be aware that he was an avid supporter of the arts.

For this writer, if I ever wanted to be alive during another era of filmmaking, my first choice would most definitely be the 1960s. During that time, some of the most fascinating genre work was being created from the likes of Alfred Hitchcock, Herschell Gordon Lewis, the Hammer House of Horror, George A. Romero, and of course legendary writer/director/producer Roger Corman.

It’s hard to believe that the iconic Vincent Price would have been 100 years old next week (he was born May 27, 1911), and it’s even harder to believe that it’s been almost 18 years since we had to say goodbye to the beloved actor.

Famous Monsters of Filmland has announced a change in date and venue for its first annual Imagi-Movies Film Festival. The three-day event will be held at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills, CA, located at 9036 Wilshire Blvd., from April 8-10, 2011, celebrating the legacy of Forrest J Ackerman, America's #1 sci-fi fan. If you're looking for a few laughs this Halloween and are a fan of the "Mystery Science Theater 3000" alumni now doing "Rifftrax", you may be happy to hear Rifftrax will once again be broadcasting live in select theaters around the country October 28th for a spooktacular riffing of the William Castle cult classic House on Haunted Hill starring the legendary Vincent Price.

Here I thought this whole colorization thing had more or less died out in the Eighties. Guess not. I'm with most people in thinking that if a movie was made in black & white, then it ought to be viewed in black & white. Besides, something about the colorization process has just never looked right to me. Don't tell that to Legend Films; restoring and colorizing black & white movies is their bread & butter.
