As a kid, whenever I watched any version of Cinderella, I would become absolutely enraged on the character’s behalf, furious that no one would save her from her wicked stepmother. Yes, I know it all turns up Cinderella at the film’s end, but as a kid with her own experiences with stepmoms, I could barely stomach the beginning of any film about her. But now, director Andy Edwards is giving her back her agency without the marriage in the new movie, Cinderella’s Revenge.

In this fable reimagining, Cinderella’s wicked stepsisters and stepmother push her too far, leading her to swap her glass slippers in pursuit of blood-soaked vengeance with the help of her Fairy Godmother.
In our exclusive clip from the film, we see a mask-wearing Cinderella face off with one of her stepsisters. And let’s just say, Cinderella wins by a long shot.

Lauren Staerck, Natasha Henstridge, Stephanie Lodge, Beatrice Fletcher, Megan Purvis, and Darrell Griggs star in the latest twist on a classic children’s tale. Notably, Henstridge broke onto the horror scene with her leading role as Sil in the 1995 creature feature Species.
Cinderella’s Revenge joins the ranks of films such as Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey, Three Blind Mice, and the upcoming Steamboat that put a hellish lens over the stories of our childhood.
Cinderella’s Revenge comes exclusively to theaters on April 26, 2024.
