2024 is an election year and it’s already shaping up to be tumultuous (to put it lightly). American politics is already a horror show, but Erik and Carson Bloomquist are taking it even further in their political slasher Founders Day, which hits theaters this week!

In this bold political slasher from the Bloomquist Brothers, a small town is shaken by a series of ominous killings in the days leading up to a heated mayoral election. As accusations fly and the threat of a masked killer darkens every street corner, the residents must race to uncover the truth before fear consumes the town.

We love a slasher villain who likes to play with their food, and that seems to be exactly what’s happening in Founders Day. We can’t wait to see what other creative kills await in the new slasher!
Dread Central’s Tyler Doupé saw Founders Day as part of this year’s Popcorn Frights Film Festival. In his review, he said, “I wholeheartedly recommend that you check Founders Day out when you get the chance. It is suspenseful and unpredictable, and opts to write its own playbook rather than follow the template set by the early slasher efforts.”
