UPDATE: Famke Janssen to Stand with Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

When news of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters first broke, two things came immediately to mind … this is either gonna be ludicrous in the most horrendous of ways or it’s just crazy enough to work. Some more star power has jumped on board, and depending on her role, it could easily sway our opinion for the better!
According to Indie Wire’s The Playlist Famke Janssen has joined Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters with reps for the actress confirming her casting in the film. Janssen joins the previously announced Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner in the dark reboot written by All You Need Is Kill writer D.W. Harper and directed by Tommy Wirkola.
No word on whom Janssen will be playing, but we’re praying for a truly wicked witch!
The storyline for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters picks up the fairy tale siblings 15 years after their traumatic gingerbread house incident, which provoked them to become witch bounty hunters.
