Director Ninja Thyberg brings us Pleasure, a movie about one porn star’s journey to find out just how far she’s willing to go to make it huge. The red band trailer courtesy of Neon is NSFW so get the kids out of the room and shutter the blinds. This one is spicy.
Pleasure made its premiere at Sundance 2021 and it certainly turned a few heads. Ninja Thyberg’s debut feature film Pleasure is a journey into the Los Angeles porn industry through the lens of newcomer Bella Cherry (Sofia Kappel). Strong, self-confident and determined, Bella embarks on a mission to become the best at any cost.
Sofia Kappel, a first time actor, is said to deliver a magnetic performance amongst a cast of adult industry performers.
Thyberg turned heads with her short film of the same name in 2013, which she adapted into a feature for the 2021 festival. The original revolved around a 19-year-old who leaves Sweden for L.A. hoping to become a world-famous porn star. But, of course, things do not go as planned.
Next up for Thyberg is a retelling of The Witches of Eastwick. We reported on the news this past August, and can’t wait to see what the director brings to the witchy tale.
Most importantly, an unrated version of Pleasure is set to theatres on May 13th 2022.
