Trick 'r Treat

Two Boots Ready for Schlocktober!

Anyone on the East Coast knows that the Two Boots Pioneer Theater in New York is pretty much the venue to see hard-to-find, indie, and obscure horror films. Well, with October just around the corner they’ve got a massive amount of horrific goodness planned to make sure you never forget!

Full Film Lineup for Screamfest 2008!

This October 10th-19th will see the return of Screamfest to LA’s Grauman’s Chinese 6 Theater, and we’ve been giving you bits and pieces on it since the festival first started compiling its schedule of horror films. Well, no more piecemeal; it's time for the entire feast!

Trick 'r Treat Opens Screamfest!

Another new title has been added to this year’s Screamfest LA lineup, one that horror fans have been waiting over a year to finally see for themselves: Mike Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat! Yesterday I got a postcard in the mail with Friday, October 10th, listed as the premiere date for the film at Mann’s Chinese 6 Theatre, which means it's opening the festival in style!

NYC Gets a Treat

Finally! Finally we know when and how we can see Mike Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat on the big screen! All you have to do is ... be in New York.

Trick 'r Treat Direct to DVD?

While I hope this turns out to be just a rumor, unfortunately there’s too much validity in it to ignore. The STYD guys heard from one of their readers today that, since Warner Bros. have no plans to release Mike Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat in theaters, there’s a good chance we’ll only be seeing it on DVD.

UPDATE: Trick 'r Treat NOT Back With Warner Bros!

**UPDATE: All right, we just got 100% confirmation from Warner Bros that they will NOT be releasing Trick 'r Treat. So I guess it's back to square one as the film looks for distro... it was fun while it lasted, though, wasn't it? ** I don’t want anyone getting too excited until we get something 100% official from Warner Bros, but a source very close to Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat just dropped us a line with a look at the brand-new poster for the film!

Trick 'r Treat Still at WB

An interesting development went down yesterday that we’re still trying to get some kind of official details on one way or another. Warner Bros. sent out its fall preview to all us internet journalists, and though nothing specific was mentioned in terms of a release date, Mike Dougherty’s long-suffering Trick ‘r Treat was still on the list.

SDCC 08: Trick 'r Treat's Sam Unmasked!

Sideshow Collectibles usually has one of the biggest booths at Comic Con every year, so much so that you could almost call it a living area rather than a booth. But since they continue to make such kickass toys year after year, they’re fully deserving of it.

Trick 'r Treat Still Searching for Studio

It’s not the good news we’ve been hoping for, but it’s close; Over the weekend the folks over at Moviehole talked to Trick ‘r Treat director Mike Dougherty, who gave them a very quick update on the status of his Halloween-set horror flick;

Trick 'r Treat Helmer Calls All Robots

Though we’ve yet to see his debut film, Trick ‘r Treat thanks to some very odd decisions form Warner Bros., director Michael Dougherty is prepping his next movie, an animated adventure called Calling All Robots, and damnit I’m excited for it.

Trick 'R Treat in October? Maybe.

Hey! Remember that flick by Michael Dougherty that we were so excited about this year ("Exclusive: Trick 'r Treat Set Visit!" - April 2007)? Remember when it was supposed to come out this past Halloween, but went missing?

Release Dates, Ratings Galore!

A slew of upcoming horror films have both been given ratings and moved release dates in the last few days. Instead of trying to make sense of it all narratively, I’ve decided to give you all a nice, easy-to-read chronological list! That’s how much I care.

Roth & Dougherty Get Origins

The popular NBC show "Heroes" or its spin-off "Heroes: Origins" don't quite fit into our beloved genre, but Hostel writer/director Eli Roth and Trick 'r Treat writer/director Michael Dougherty sure do!

Book of Treats!

Wow, Warner Bros. is really happy about Mike Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat, or at least that’s how it seems when you look at all the cool stuff coming our way from it.
