The dates have been set for Grimmfest 2012, Grimm Up North’s annual festival of horror and cult movies. It gears into action in Manchester, UK, this October 4th-7th at The Dancehouse theatre.
It is Mortal Kombat week as the new video game arrives from Warner Bros. Taking advantage of the buzz, the two theatrical films based on the game are being re-released on Blu-ray as well.
It's a big week for "versus" films as we have AVH: Alien vs. Hunter, Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus (on Blu-ray solo and also in a two-pack with 30,000 Leagues Under the Sea), and The Navy vs. the Night Monsters. In addition a couple of other dual releases bow on May 18th: Book of Lore/Grave Mistakes and Invasion of Carol Enders/Come Die With Me.
Live from the NY Asian Film Festival 2009 at the IFC Center, Tokyo Gore Night proved to be quite the "spectacle", to say the least! Highlights included punishment to the directors for unleashing such mind-boggling films onto the world by way of darts to the ass courtesy of Tak Sakaguchi. Those who toughed it out were seen as true samurai!
