Just in time for AFM a little title change has gone on concerning Tim Sullivan's follow-up to 2001 Maniacs. The subtitle The Beverly Hellbillys has been ditched, and in its place we now have Field of Screams, making the full title for anyone not playing along 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams.

How rare is it that you get the opportunity to learn from one of the genre's staple filmmakers? If you plan on attending the Big Bear Horror Festival this weekend, you'll be getting that very chance as director Tim Sullivan will be appearing to teach a special "Slash Course" and show the first Maniacs film!

To say that we're eagerly awaiting Tim Sullivan's 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys is a bit of an understatement. The dude is just one of us through and through as evidenced by the gleeful amount of sick he puts into his films. This coming sequel looks to be no different!

One sequel we're gleefully anticipating around the Dread Central offices is Tim Sullivan's follow-up to his remake of the "classic" Herschell Gordon Lewis flick 2000 Maniacs, entitled 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys! Why? Because Sullivan is a madman and gets what it is that he's making ... a no holds barred non-stop gore-laden freak-out with its tongue planted firmly in its cheek.
