The WTF Friday Video of the Week
Just like ours, the Asian culture lives in the sunlit world of what we believe to be ... reality. But there is also -- unseen by most -- a cartoon world. A place that is just as real, where you can sing and take a shit.
Here we are again, kids ... the end of the work week and the beginning of the weekend. Now that Jonah Hex is in theatres with his scarred face and guns blazing, we find it quite appropriate to blow off some steam with a video featuring the man with the original scarred face and his endless stream of hot lead!
The year was 1983. E.T. had just broken box office records. A pre-Terminator Linda Hamilton needed work. ABC wanted its own small screen E.T. Thus, "Wishman" was born - stillborn, that is.
Ok, how many folks out there indulged a little too much on hamburgers this past Memorial Day? Come on! Raise those chubby little arms and try not to get winded in the process! There ya go! Have we got something special to kick off the weekend for you!
Since we first started this Friday-only feature, we've brought you a smorgasbord of the strange, the funny, and the near indescribable. The next installment of the series serves to teach us something while we wander through the weirdness of the World Wide Web.
You know, here in the States (unless there is a clip from a Lucio Fulci movie in it) we usually fast forward, leave the room, or just plain change the channel during commercial breaks. The rest of the world, though? You bastards have really got it on! Seriously, I'd rather sit through foreign commercials than half of the shit we have here on the regular.
Here we are at the end of another really long week so you know what that means, right? It's time to cut loose, blow off steam, and dig on yet another The WTF Friday Video of the Week where ANYTHING goes as long as it's bizarre, and holy shit, do we have a live one for you today!
Anyone here remember that Robert De Niro and Wesley Snipes movie The Fan? In it De Niro played a sociopathic fan of Snipes, whose character was a famous ball player. Of course it led to kidnapping, murder, and loads of unintentional laughs, but sometimes life can be way scarier than art!
A popular thing on YouTube right now is to take scenes from television or movies, swap the music, and/or re-edit it to completely change the tone of the piece. Perhaps you've already seen a horror soundtrack turn the opening of "Diff'rent Strokes" into "Disturbing Strokes" and transform Mary Poppins into Scary Poppins. None of them are quite as hilariously unsettling as what happens to the lovable alien ALF in this remix.
Few things inspire true WTF-ness quite like Elves, the 1990 chiller starring a chain-smoking Dan Haggerty as an alcoholic ex-cop turned department store Santa trying to prevent Neo-Nazis from completing their diabolical plan to spawn a satanic elf that must mate with a purebred Aryan virgin by Christmas Eve in order to procreate Adolf Hitler's half-human/half-elf master race that will conquer the world.
Imagine if you will a Bollywood version of Jaws filled with musical numbers, violent action sequences, and shark attacks featuring what looks like a toy shark bought from a dollar store attacking toy boats that also look like something out of a toy box. Imagine no more - Aatank exists!
Advertisements for candy aimed at little kids aren't supposed to scar them for life, are they? That's what happened back in the 1980's when Kinder chocolate tried to make Humpty Dumpty their pitchman. Nothing could put the kids' fragile psyches back together again after this commercial hit the airwaves.
It is Friday. In fact it is a Good Friday, and you know what that means ... it's time for the WTF Friday Video of the Week! This one stretches back a bit to a time when behemoths grappled and men were men!
Horror comes in many shapes and sizes. Many colors and creeds. It can be found in the souls of men or women, or it can be placed upon display for random visitors to gawk at as they would a terrible clown car accident on the I-95 involving dwarfs and a gang of stampeding burros. The only thing we know for sure is that it is Friday, and it's time to go a little mad!
