Black Swan Lands Five Oscar Nominations; The Wolfman Nabs a Nod for Makeup
While The King's Speech leads the pack with twelve Oscar nominations, Black Swan did the horror genre proud by landing five prestigious nominations earlier today. And the much maligned The Wolfman made a surprise appearance as well with a nod in the Makeup category for Rick Baker and Dave Elsey.

Here's something interesting ... one of the problems that The Wolfman faced on its way to the big screen was which music to use. Two artists were up for the task. Danny Elfman and former member of Tangerine Dream Paul Haslinger both cooked up some tunes, but in the end the decision was made to go with Elfman's work. Toy Fair 2010: Mezco's Mez-itz: A Unique Take On Our Favorite Monsters
If you're unfamiliar with Mezco's line of Mez-itz collectibles, you're in for a real treat. Basically they take the look of your favorite character, turn it on its head, and make it ... well ... cute! I like my horror as visceral as the next guy, but it is really kind of hard not to dig on these little guys.
