Famous Monsters of Filmland has announced a change in date and venue for its first annual Imagi-Movies Film Festival. The three-day event will be held at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills, CA, located at 9036 Wilshire Blvd., from April 8-10, 2011, celebrating the legacy of Forrest J Ackerman, America's #1 sci-fi fan. After Universal Pictures removed the prequel to the John Carpenter classic The Thing from its 2011 release schedule, fans assumed the worst. Turns out things weren't that bad after all! After prepping for some additional photography to give the flick more character development, Universal Pictures has rescheduled The Thing for release on October 14, 2011.
