The Shrine
If you happen to be a fan of all things demonic, supernatural, clandestine and vicious – and live in the UK – then we have some very good news for you! Arrow Films are set to unleash Jon Knautz’s rollicking possession creature feature The Shrine on DVD and Blu-ray across the United Kingdom on February 27th.
It isn't often that we mention the Grammys here at Dread Central, but a few genre favorites have landed nominations for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, which will be presented February 12, 2012, on CBS, and we just wanted to share the news.
We are minutes away from beginning our San Diego Comic-Con coverage, but before we get going, two massively cool clips from IFC Midnight's The Shrine have come our way, and we need to share!
Be sure to check out the flick on demand from IFC Midnight via Comcast, Cox, Cablevision, Time Warner, and Bright House!
We've been anxiously awaiting Jon Knautz’s next genre effort ever since having the opportunity to check out his 2008 horror comedy Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer. It seems that the wait is finally over for us as well as legions of other fans as Knautz’s latest, The Shrine, is set to hit VOD platforms tomorrow (July 15).

The final Friday of Fantasia 2010 brought us one of the highlights of this year’s festival: director Christopher (Creep) Smith’s necromancer plague drama Black Death. Playing as the perfect accompaniment to Ken Russell’s The Devils, Black Death is a very subdued and naturalistic take on pestilence and witchcraft.
