One of the favorite events that we here at Dread Central participate in each year is The Reaper Awards, which we present in conjunction with Home Media Magazine, and we're happy to announce that the 2011 version is under way. Read on for the details regarding the nominees and how you can help pick the winners.

The second annual Reaper Awards descended onto the historic Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood on Tuesday, October 12th, in high fashion as the hotel was packed to celebrate the best horror titles released over the last year on DVD and Blu-Ray.

The votes have been cast and the ballots counted for tonight come the Second Annual Reaper Awards, a collaboration between Home Media Magazine and Dread Central. For fans who asked for up-to-date coverage, we will be live blogging the awards show right here on this page.

We had such a good time at last year's first-ever Reaper Awards that Dread Central and Home Media Magazine have decided to do it again this October! Read on for the full details. From the Press Release:

The 2009 Reaper Awards were a lot of fun, and now finally you can watch the event in its entirety right in the comfort of your own home. You don't even have to get dressed up although if you do, our preference is rubber and leather. We're a bit kinky. I want to take a moment to thank everyone in attendance, everyone who voted, everyone who sponsored the event, and everyone who contributed even the smallest of things to make this happening the -- from what I am told -- success that it was. You guys all rock!
