The #1 Movie On Netflix is a High-Octane Rush; Viewers Compared it to ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Logan’

The fanbase for this Canadian sci-fi thriller was even bigger than we thought. Code 8: Part II  hit Netflix yesterday and immediately shot to the #1 spot worldwide on the streamer. Many viewers are pleading for a third entry as they can’t get enough of this exciting saga. If you are just now learning about this series, check out the synopsis and trailer below. 

In the film,

“In a world where 4% of the population are born with abnormal powers and heavily policed by high-tech robotics, an ex-con teams up with the drug lord he despises to protect a young girl from a corrupt police sergeant.”

Code 8: Part II was directed by Jeff Chan. The script was written by Chris Paré, Jeff Chan, Sherren Lee, and Jesse LaVercombe. The cast includes Stephen Amell, Robbie Amell, Alex Mallari Jr., Sirena Gulamgaus, Jean Yoon, Aaron Abrams, Moe Jeudy-Lamour, and Natalie Liconti.

Tons of fans have already devoured this sequel and want more. Many viewers feel there is enough left to explore for at least one more movie.

Code 8 landed on Netflix in 2019 and is still streaming on the app alongside Code 8: Part II. This means you could have a superpowered little double feature if you are a subscriber. 

It’s surprising that these movies flew under my radar. I was definitely looking for something to fill my Sense 8 void around the same time the first movie premiered. I am putting them both in my Netflix queue as we speak and cannot wait to see if they are as fun as they look. Let me know if you are also late to the party at @misssharai.
