The Host 2
When it comes to viral campaigns, you can never be too sure what the deal is until the proverbial cat is out of the bag. That being said, while we're not 100% positive, it appears that the first viral video series in promotion of The Host 2 has arrived.
Curious about who will be writing the sequel to Bong Joon-Ho's Korean monsterpiece The Host? How about who'll be directing and when you'll be able to see it? We've got all that and more for you right here.
Just a few days after bringing the world the first clip from The Host 2, our friends over at Twitch Film have uncovered yet more delicious creature footage from the flick. Check it out and drool like the rest of us.
It's a good thing for children that at times they are absurdly quick moving. This especially comes in handy when you're being chased by a giant serpent hellbent on destruction and landing some tasty Korean food for dinner. Check out the first clip from The Host 2!
Why? Just why? That's a question we find ourselves asking a lot lately. And you can officially add the following statement to your "Wow, really?" list - Bong Joon-ho's acclaimed creature feature/family drama The Host has been converted to 3D.
Some interesting news coming in for the sequel to Bong Joon-Ho's critically acclaimed Korean monster mash! Seems as if the creature will be leaping off the screen when the second installment of this budding franchise hits theatres.
The Host 2, it seems, has been lingering in pre-production for an eternity. And while today’s story yields another one of those, “yep, it’s coming … eventually” type of updates, there’s also some cool news about an interactive adaptation of the perpetually upcoming sequel.
Like lots of you, I consider The Host to be one of my favorite films from the past ten years. I still remember seeing it in theaters, unsure of what to expect, and being drawn into an amazing story with some of the best characters in recent memory (and a really cool creature, too). I'm not convinced that a sequel is necessary, but I'm the guy that would've balked at the Piranha II director making a sequel to Ridley Scott's Alien. So who knows?
One of the best genre films in recent memory, The Host, will be the basis for both an American remake (surprise, surprise!) and a sequel. And while I couldn't care less about what Hollywood thinks it can do to make a better film than Joon-ho Bong's original, the prospect of a sequel, however unnecessary, has my full attention.
**Oh, burn! This isn't actually a Host 2 teaser, it's an add for an electric company which you can see right here
has a story this morning about a sequel to Bong Joon-Ho’s The Host that’s in the works, but it’s hard to tell if it’s still the same hands it’s been in since The Host 2’s inception. It is a Chinese/Korean co-production, but the details of its background aren’t mentioned. Curious
Now that it’s been confirmed over and over that yes, The Host 2 will be a prequel, more and more information is cropping up about it, specifically today from Sci Fi Japan
, who got a look at the first conceptual sketch from the film.
Though it’s been discussed since before production had even finished on the first film, finally a few very small details have been revealed about The Host 2, the follow up to Bong Joon-Ho’s 2006 monster epic.
