2010 is starting to wind down, which means it's time for all the various awards shows to begin rearing their heads. First up are The People's Choice Awards, which have a new category this go-round for Favorite Horror Movie. Here are some of the genre nominee highlights:

Now that the dust has settled and The Crazies remake is making its home video debut, we caught up with director Breck Eisner to talk about all of the horrors he faced while working on the project.

Next week The Crazies hits DVD and Blu-ray so you know what that means, right? Time to give it away to you for free! Why? Maybe it's because we like you. Or maybe, just maybe, it's because we're a little crazy ourselves.

Breck Eisner's better than we thought it'd be remake of the George A. Romero classic The Crazies is officially hitting Blu-ray and DVD, and we've got the goods on what to expect!

While we haven't gotten anything official here in the States as of yet, we do know that Amazon Canada has a brand new listing for the Breck Eisner remake with a release date of June 29th!

Considering the state of the world we live in, viral outbreak films are all the rage right now, and Breck Eisner's redux of The Crazies fared well overall both with critics and at the box office. So now it's Trembles' turn to provide his take on the flick.

With The Crazies (review here) remake bursting down our door, I thought it would be a good opportunity for Dread Central to look back at some of the most memorable virus/outbreak movies of the genre’s past. It’s a slippery slope when determining what constitutes a viral plague versus a standard zombie apocalypse, but I boiled my criteria down to one basic rule: The carnage must be driven by an infection, and re-animated corpses crawling out of the dirt need not apply.

Well, we've gone from the famine of last week to a veritable feast of DVD and Blu-ray offerings on home video this week.
