Terminator: Salvation
While it's likely a foregone conclusion that Avatar will be taking home the Oscar, the Motion Picture Academy has announced the seven films that will compete in order to become one of three nominess for the Visual Effects Academy Award. And a couple of them are big favorites around the Dread Central offices.
The next step in a totally immersive movie-watching experience is available now as owners of the new Terminator: Salvation Blu-ray are able to participate in the first-ever audio-enabled Live Community Screening (LCS) on Saturday, December 5th, 2009.
A new month; a new batch of DVDs and Blu-rays to consider. We've used the phrase "mixed bag" a few times before this year, but never has it been more apropos than with regard to those discs that are being released on December 1st, 2009!

Wolverine is in theaters now. Star Trek opened at midnight tonight on the East Coast. We've got more than a couple of summer blockbuster movies to look forward to... And one of them involves the near extinction of the human race at the hands of robots we created!! DAMN YOUUUU SKYNET!!!!

Now that we've all seen that sweet new Terminator: Salvation trailer, it's a good bet that all expectations for the film are running pretty high. I know mine are. And what would a blockbuster be without some cool-ass collectible to go along with it?
