It may have been mostly shunned by the Emmys (garnering only Outstanding Art Direction, Casting, and Main Title Design nominations from them), but HBO’s “True Blood” got the recognition it so richly deserves from the Television Critics Association over this past weekend.

The 25th anniversary of the TCA awards was held at The Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa on August 1st, and “True Blood” won in the Outstanding New Program category. Syfy’s “Battlestar Galactica” was named Program of the Year.

The Television Critics Association is composed of more than 200 reporters and columnists in print media from the United States and Canada. For more info, visit their official site.
