Scorpio Film Releasing is currently three weeks into production on its newest feature, the Richard Griffin-directed Murder University, which is being shot entirely in Rhode Island, and we have artwork, an image gallery, and some early details to share.

One film we're looking forward to checking out is Richard Griffin's Exhumed, which has a real retro vibe thanks to its black & white palette, and if you happen to live in or near Foxboro, Massachusetts, you can beat us to the punch when the flick premieres on November 11th. In honor of the occasion the filmmakers have sent us a trio of new stills to share.

Today we have for you the film's new poster and trailer along with a couple of stills.

Earlier this year we told you about Exhumed, a uniquely original vision of horror written by Guy Benoit (Atomic Brain Invasion), produced by Ted Marr (The Disco Exorcist), and directed by Richard Griffin (Nun of That). This week Scorpio Film Releasing dropped us a line to let us know the film has wrapped production and provided us with three new stills.

While we had heard 2009: Mutants of the Apocalypse was going to be the next project for Scorpio Film Releasing, it turns out that instead they're moving forward with Exhumed, a uniquely original vision of horror written by Guy Benoit (Atomic Brain Invasion), produced by Ted Marr (The Disco Exorcist), and directed by Richard Griffin (Nun of That).

It's been a while since we've heard anything from the folks behind The Disco Exorcist, but as proof that good things come to those who wait, today we have the film's poster debut along with details on its February 12th premiere in Providence, Rhode Island. From the Press Release:

Scorpio Film Releasing has announced that its next production, and most ambitious to date, will be the feature film 2009: Mutants of the Apocalypse, a unique look at a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by outlandishly deformed mutants, ruthlessly violent gangs, corruptible leaders, wasteland temptresses, and the most badass antihero in movie history: Python Diamond.

Now here's a movie after my own heart - Creature from the Hillbilly Lagoon. A group of college students run afoul of a band of inbred rednecks, but making matters worse is the gillman monster spawned from toxic waste dumped into a nearby lagoon. Expect plenty of cheap, cheesy, gory, gooey, rubber-suited fishman on a rampage action. They don't make enough movies of this ilk for my take, and when they do they're usually of the Rana, The Legend of Shadow Lake variety.
