Adrienne Barbeau
The 7th annual Rock and Shock Horror and Music Festival has just expanded its guest list yet again, and we've got the lowdown on who's been added to join the previously announced Danny Trejo, George Romero, Adrienne Barbeau, GWAR, Rob Zombie/Alice Cooper, and many more.
A lot of actors try their hand at other crafts - singing, painting, writing - but hands down one of the most successful has been Adrienne Barbeau, who, along with penning her autobiography, There Are Worse Things I Could Do (review here), also wrote one of the decade's best vampire novels, Vampyres of Hollywood (review here). Luckily for us, a sequel to Vampyres, entitled Love Bites, is hitting store shelves on August 31st!
As part of their Gruesome Twosome tour, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper will be bringing the fine folks of Worcester, Massachusetts one hell of a stage show as the icons will be performing on Saturday, October 16th as part of this year's Rock and Shock!
It's become an October tradition for many members of the Dread Central crew to descend on the town of Worcester, Massachusetts for Rock and Shock, the combination horror convention/music blowout that just gets bigger and better each year. Now that the first guests for the 2010 edition have been announced, it's looking like this year is no exception.
Let's face it... some movies in our genre are only good for two things: blood and boobs. There's nothing wrong with that, as both can redeem even the sorriest of motion pictures. But with so many horror movies floating around out there, how do we know which ones have the hottest of the hotties?
The Sci-Fi Channel is preparing to go to war with the wolves in their upcoming werewolf flick Warwolves, and John Saxon, Tim Thomerson, and Adrienne Barbeau have already enlisted for duty.
We've had a good list of authors for our Dreadtime Stories podcast series so far, but really I never expected we'd get one from the one and only Adrienne Barbeau!
The former scream queen has turned into a full-fledged author with the publication of her first ficition novel, Vampyres of Hollywood (review), and she was kind enough to record a quick Dreadtime Story for us because, well, we're just that cool!
We got word today that a new book titled Vampyres of Hollywood is going to be hitting shelves on July 8th. While we don't normally report on books as news stories, this one is an exception since it was written the beautiful and talented Adrienne Barbeau along with fellow author Michael Scott.
As the doors closed at the Erie Playhouse late Sunday night, it marked the end of the Eerie Horror Film Festival’s fourth and most successful year to date. Groups of friends, old and new, gathered in huddles exchanging emotional goodbyes and promises of next year’s event. For those of us who were involved in the inner workings of the fest, the locking of the doors behind us was bittersweet.
Buried within the write up Evil Andy did for Rue Morgue’s fourth annual Festival of Fear is some very interesting bits of info I felt deserved to be highlighted for you guys. Don't want anyone missing cool news, now do we?
While we wait (and wait, and wait) for Anchor Bay to give us some final details on their DVD release of Unholy, the long-anticipated horror flick starring Adrienne Barbeau and Nicholas Brendan, seems it will be finding its way to theaters before it invades you home.
"We won't be silenced. The EXPERIMENT will be revealed...
Due to the controversial nature of the material, intimidating tactics have been used, both legal as well as unethical, in order to hinder the distribution of Unholy. They've succeeded.
Until now..."
We’ve been sitting on this news for a while now because, well, the right people asked us really nicely. Thankfully today we’ve finally gotten the go ahead to let us open our big mouths as a reward.
Just got word from a source close to the production that Unholy, the bizarre sounding indie film starring Adrienne Barbeau and Nicholas Brendan as a mother and son fighting evil in a small Pennsylvania town, will have its world premiere at this year’s Screamfest LA, running October 13th-22nd at the Mann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
I’m not sure what much there is to do in North Carolina, but I do know that residents in or near Durham are going to be in for a treat starting next month when The Carolina Theatre of Durham begins its Femme Fatale Film Series.
