New York Comic Con
Robert Kirkman, the Eisner Award-winning creator of The Walking Dead and Invincible, is the first guest to be announced for this year’s New York Comic Con, which will take place at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City from Thursday, October 13–Sunday, October 16, 2011.
ReedPOP, organizer of the New York Comic Con, announced that the 2011 NYCC will be expanded to four days, which means more hours and opportunities for fans to interact with their heroes throughout the popular culture universe and allow expansion of the Cultyard and New York Anime Festival -- two shows-within-the-show -- which serve the burgeoning indie toy and anime/manga communities.
New York Comic Con (NYCC) organizers have announced that they will hold a special "One Year Out" Bowling Party on Thursday, October 8, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Bowlmor Lanes, 110 University Place, just South of Union Square in New York City.
Pinhead, Ghost in a Shell, and Jason Voorhees might not have much in common on paper; but that’s not stopping Anchor Bay from grouping them all up at their booth at the New York Comic Con. The company is taking this opportunity to announce Blu-ray high definition releases of Hellraiser and Ghost in the Shell, as well as offering Q&A opportunities from producer Don Murphy.
Why would someone lug 50 to 70 boxes of swag into a show, none of which is for sale, and give those things away for 25 hours or so, over three days??!! The idea is simple. All year long, we work with excellent companies promoting killer projects they hope to bring to you. When we get the opportunity to set up an event, we take them with us. Run over to booth 1161 at New York Comic Con 09 and get in on the goods!
Still need a good reason to brave February in New York? Well, if the fact that Dread Central will have its very own booth at New York Comic Con (#1161) isn’t enough, how about an appearance by “Buffy”, “Firefly” and now “Dollhouse” creator Joss Whedon?

New York Comic Con is packed wall to wall with celebrities, entertainment companies, toy makers and comic geniuses. When you aren't being herded down the aisles, you can sit in a hall to hear the latest on your favorite projects from TV, comics, toys, movies, video games and beyond.
Creator of the flash cartoon and printed comic Xombie, James Farr, tipped us off today that his baby will be getting the live-action treatment. The details were pretty vague, but he did inform us that "big names" are involved!
