Several days ago Kevin Smith announced that should his latest film be accepted into the Sundance Film Festival he would auction off distribution rights on the spot with the help of an old-school auctioneer. Well ... confirmation has come.

Kevin Smith has long been a filmmaker who does things his own way no matter how unconventional. With his new horror film Red State now completed, Smith has unveiled some pretty, shall we say, unusual plans to find distribution.

Everyone is in the Halloween spirit today, including film maven Kevin Smith, who announced today via his blog that he's completed the first cut of his upcoming fear flick, Red State, and offered a quick look at some pretty badass teaser art!

Christploitation. I don't even feel comfortable typing it, but I like it.

We make no bones about it around these parts. Kevin Smith is one of our favorite directors so we're pretty excited to see what the filmmaker will cook up with his very first horror flick, Red State. The first casting news is here, and given the film's subject matter, it's a winner.

As you may have noticed, I got a chance to check out the new film starring The Signal’s Lewis, A.J. Bowen and From Dusk Till Dawn sheriff Michael Parks, Maidenhead. The off-kilter vampire movie is definitely unique and although the poster you see below may make it seem like a Odd Couple-esque comedy, trust me when I say it’s anything but.
