Koreans LOVE revenge movies. Especially ones that entail absolute bloody justice for those who dare make an affront to the film's hero. Such is the case here with the official trailer for Jang Cheol-soo's Bedevilled.

Making its North American debut as both a regular entry in the Tribeca Film Festival and online via TFF Virtual is Lee Yong-joo's Possessed (The Living Death), which draws equally from traditions of K-horror and police procedural.

One film that will be making its Stateside debut at this year's Tribeca Film Festival in New York City is the new South Korean horror flick Possessed (The Living Death), and we've got a clip and the trailer for you. Well, what else did you expect? That's what the headlines says doesn't it. Wow. I think I just broke the fourth wall, man.

I have zero experience speaking Korean, but the language barrier didn’t affect my ability to be completely riveted while watching the trailer for the new thriller Missing, which is set for release on March 19, 2009, in South Korea.

For reasons that should be pretty obvious, I like the new poster for Voices, the final film After Dark has chosen for next year’s Horrorfest, running January 9th-15th, 2009. There are some similarities to artwork that’s very near & dear to us that makes me smile.

I don’t know why it seems like it always takes so long for After Dark to release the final film in their Horrorfest lineup, but this year has been no exception. For a while it was all quiet, but finally we know the title of the 8th film!

Most of the fans of the stunning Korean film Oldboy (review) have already shuddered that the planned remake is in the hands of director Steven Spielberg and actor Will Smith; fulfilling this triangle of doom is screenwriter Mark Protosevich, as reported at The Hollywood Reporter.

Does anyone out there remember a little New Zealand horror film called The Ugly? It was one of those low-key flicks that came around direct to DVD here in the States just over a decade ago and got a good amount of buzz for its time. Well, if you have fond memories of it, The Ugly’s director, Scott Reynolds, is getting ready to make his first film since 2001, which also happens to be the first in a new South Korea/New Zealand co-production treaty.

It’s not a huge update, but typing the word “chaw” is a helluva lot of fun so I’ll take what I can get. Variety is reporting this morning that Korean sales outfit Fine Cut has jumped on board the Seoul/San Francisco-shot horror/comedy Chaw to get the film out there and find some distribution.

Word came down today via Twitch about a new giant animal movie that we’re definitely going to be keeping our eyes out for; it’s called Chaw and is coming at us straight outta Korea, yo. That’s a dope place for horror these days, hommie.
