Following a successful run at Fantastic Fest 2011, the cool looking indie flick Manborg has finally landed itself some distro. Please for the love of all that is holy, bring it on!

Tired of seeing Wall Street getting away with sticking it to Main Street? Then Dan Thomas' horror-noir novel The Reckoning, in which an ex-Wall Streeter is haunted by a woman (read "well endowed zombie vamp") he coerced into fatal breast implant surgery, should be right up your alley!

Fans of "Flight of the Conchords" will be happy to hear that one half of the team, Jermaine Clement, could be teaming with writer/director Taika Waititi for a new vampire comedy. Sink your teeth into the news right here.

Man, is it that time of the year already? Thankfully we have another few months to heal from the lameness that was Season Four of HBO's vampire opus "True Blood." Can Season Five get things back on track? We can only hope.

On Sunday, February 5th, the New England Patriots will try to avenge their Super Bowl XLII loss to the New York Giants as the two teams square off again, this time in Indianapolis, in Super Bowl LXVI. Some of you can't wait for the game. Others couldn't give a crap less. But there are definitely cool things everyone can enjoy about the Super Bowl: the parties and the commercials, especially this one featuring some unlucky vamps.

Fear not, fans of horrific vampires; help is on the way! Unfortunately, your favorite beasties have kind of been hijacked by Twilight, and even the vamps in "True Blood" seem to be spending more time grabassing with Sookie than actually draining victims. Outside of Stake Land we've had a serious drought of quality bloodsuckers. However, word we've received from DC reader and super tipster Avery G is that Australia has a pretty kick-ass vampire film on the way in The Caretaker.

More casting news is coming in for HBO's "True Blood" Season 5, this time in the fairy category, as newcomer Giles Matthey has landed the multi-episode role of Claude, a hot and mysterious British fairy.

When Steve Niles (Criminal Macabre, 30 Days of Night) premiered artwork from his upcoming collaboration with artist Menton3 (Monocyte, Proof: Endangered, Crawl to Me) via his Twitter feed, speculation and anticipation spread like wildfire across the Internet. Now Dark Horse has announced that this new vampiric tale will premiere in an upcoming Dark Horse Presents!

If you're going to cast a new vampire on the HBO series "True Blood", why not pick a guy who's played the ancient Volturi vamp Marcus in three of the Twilight movies - New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and the upcoming Part 2 - as well as a creepy Swede in "Hell on Wheels" and a demon in an arc on the CW’s "Supernatural"? Makes sense to us.

When you think of some of the most beloved and enduring characters in the history of the horror genre, Dracula has to be somewhere near the top. Certain entities are just synonymous with everything that we love as horror fans, and the original fanged fiend definitely fits the bill. The good news? We may be seeing a lot more of him.

Last night, January 11th, Dread Central headed out to the Laemmle 4-Plex in Santa Monica for the Los Angeles premiere of the indie vampire film Midnight Son, which is set to make its debut on FEARnet later this month.

I suppose you can have too much of a good thing. At some point you reach your limit of vampires being totally superior to us. Oozing sexuality with inhuman strength and the uncanny ability to bed down anyone they choose, vampires can become a bit annoying with their superiority complexes. It was back in February of last year when we first put up our review of Scott Leberecht's fresh take on vampires, Midnight Son, and now finally, if you live in or around Los Angeles, you can attend the film's premiere on Wednesday, January 11th, and see for yourself if all the praise it's received is warranted. We're pretty sure you'll agree!
