New Line
Here's a combination you don't see very often... Back to the Future meets Friday the 13th. Apparently that's exactly what we're going to get with New Line's latest horror comedy, Final Girls.
James Wan has been responsible for two of the most successful independent horror films of the past ten years. It's no surprise, then, that he's become a real commodity in the eyes of producers looking to replicate the box office successes of Saw and/or Insidious. We've told you about quite a few potential projects for Wan, and today another possibility joins the fray.
Even though it's Sunday, that's not stopping a few tidbits of news from creeping online, including this latest story about The Watching Hour, a new spec script from a pair of writers who are apparently the grandsons of Dick Van Dyke.
Yes, The Final Destination sent the franchise out on a supremely limp note, but the sucker grossed nearly $200 million. That being said, it is a no-brainer that any flick that makes that kind of bank at the box office is going to get a sequel, and one is coming. Find out who's in the running for the director's seat by reading on.

We, like many, were really saddened to hear of Larry Fessenden's departure from the American remake of the hit Spanish spooker The Orphanage. We're sure that Larry will find himself something super-cool to attach himself to (hopefully free of his seemingly non-stop Wendigo fetish), but it would have been great to have him on board. New Line, however, is dead set on making this flick, and they have already found themselves a brand new director!
Given the success of this year's remake of Friday the 13th (it did, after all, rake in a total domestic gross of $65 million), we figured we'd be seeing a sequel at some point. And now we know exactly when Friday the 13th Part 2 -- the 13th film in the series -- will be making its box office debut.
It's official. The Final Destination (review here) has taken the #1 spot at the box office, beating off The Shape and the Basterds (man, that sounded dirty). Judging by the numbers, lots of you have already seen the film's stars dispatched in all manner of nasty ways ... but have you heard what they had to say about the experience?
Hey, horror fans! Last night was the red (or in this case black) carpet premiere for The Final Destination 3D, and Heather Wixson was on hand to get you an exclusive look all the excitement from the Mann's Theater in Westwood.

Warner Bros. just sent over four audio files for you guys to download and dig on while you're gearing up for this weekend's big horror showdown!
With death knocking on our doors in theatres on August 28th, we figured that there would be no better way to celebrate our soon-to-be passing than with a massive contest ushering in The Final Destination!
Finally the fourth film in the Final Destination franchise, simply called The Final Destination, has met the MPAA and come away with the rating we were hoping for!
