Set Visit

We’ve been following filmmaker John Michael Elfer’s Kiss Before the Slaughter since its down and dirty desert shoot earlier this year, and now we are proud to offer you, our Dread Central readers, an early look at the project's high-octane trailer! Read on!

In continuing with our historic support of independent filmmaking, Dread hit the set of director John Michael Elfers' Kiss before the Slaughter earlier this month in the deserts of southern California, and now thusly delivers to you an extensive gallery from the shoot, as well as word on the status of the gritty and subversive Fire Trial Films’ project. Read on!

Shooting over the course of a short six days earlier this month in and around an industrial complex in South Central L.A., this writer paid the production a set visit on April 13, initially to find the cast and crew (producing credits go to Creep Creepersin and David Sterling, as well as to executive producer Ted Chalmers) in good spirits and working efficiently to make their day.

On the heels of our May set visit to writer and director Declan O’Brien’s then-shooting feature Wrong Turn 4, the filmmaker touched base with us last Friday to give us an update on the flick’s post-production, which is being carried out in Vancouver, Canada.

This past Monday, March 7, 2011, Dread hit the set of Fox's then-shooting Wrong Turn 4 in the below zero clime of wintry Brandon, Canada.

Driving down a winding road in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, the car rounds a turn, climbing higher into the mountains. Perched on the side of a steep hill is an old farmhouse with peeling gray paint and gaping windows, surrounded by fields of dry and rustling corn. The front lawn slopes dangerously down and then sprawls out into an honest-to-god pumpkin patch. This is where the cast and crew for upcoming indie thriller The Fields are shooting today.

I’d never been to Austin, TX before, but it’s one of those cities that I’ve heard so much about that I couldn’t wait to finally get a chance to check it out.

This past weekend our Film Ranch International friends, Andrew Allan and Andy Lalino, invited us out to a location where they were filming their newest venture, Brainjacked!
