Our video interview series for Marcus Nispel's Conan the Barbarian continues today with the star of the show, Jason Momoa. When it comes to taking on an iconic character like Conan, you need a true badass to breathe life into one of the most popular warriors of all time, and he more than fits the bill.
In the upcoming Conan the Barbarian, actress and action veteran Rachel Nichols (Star Trek, GI Joe) portrays Tamara, a pureblood descendent of the Sorcerers of Acheron who becomes an accomplice and eventual love interest to the titular character (played by "Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa).
For Marcus Nispel's latest project, Conan the Barbarian, the director decided to approach this reimagining a bit differently: Rather than remaking John Milius' iconic 1982 movie that introduced the world to a then-up-and-coming Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nispel opted to rely more on the 1932 Conan short story series by Robert E. Howard.
Voltage Pictures today released some early artwork for director Marcus Nispel's latest horror flick Backmask, and as always we're right here to get it into your hot little hands. Or eyes. Or whatever.
Announced at Cannes, read on for the plot details of this Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Lords of Salem, The Bay) produced film.
Synopsis
He tackled The Texas Chainsaw Masscare. He bungled Friday the 13th. He's treading more sacred ground with Conan the Barbarian, and now director Marcus Nispel is looking to put his patented orange-colored lens flare laden stamp on yet another horror flick - Backmask. Well at least it isn't a remake.
