Looks like after a bit of a bad spell zombies are once again gaining momentum in Tinsel Town, catching up with the vampires who have been ruling the proverbial cinematic roost. As big fans of the living dead, this brings more than just a little smile to our collective faces. If you've never heard of James Farr's Xombie, then, brother, you have been missing out! Though if this following news comes to fruition, we're fairly certain you won't be missing out for too much longer!

Halo-8 Entertainment is kicking copious amounts of ass when it comes to the innovative animation technique known as "illustrated filmmaking", and upon completion of their recently announced upcoming Loaded Bible project, they will next be producing the horror/sci-fi adventure Xombie: Reanimated created by James Farr.

One deal that seemingly slipped through the cracks at this year’s AFM was Halo 8’s acquisition of James Farr’s animated Xombie series for both theatrical and DVD release. It’s all right because they just sent out official word with all the details.

Creator of the flash cartoon and printed comic Xombie, James Farr, tipped us off today that his baby will be getting the live-action treatment. The details were pretty vague, but he did inform us that "big names" are involved!

After five long years, the online animated series Xombie has finally reached its conclusion.

Even though talk of a movie based on Xombie has been all but absent for the last year or so, that hasn’t stopped creator Jamie Farr from coming up with cool stuff for his characters, both living and undead.

Just got the following image from the folks behind Xombie, which is one of the covers Devil’s Due is working on for their upcoming comic series based on Jamie Farr’s badass online series. With the recently published graphic novel Xombie: Dead on Arrival (review) and now this, it looks like we’re going to be seeing the futher adventures of Dirge for a long time to come.

I’ve got to give credit to the creators of the wildly popular online show Xombie for two reasons: One, they’re sick of waiting for someone in Hollywood to get their idea and throw the kind of money at them that they need to make it into a feature-length film and want to do it themselves, and two, they’re willing to ask us, the fans, for help.
