Gremlins
There's no question the original Gremlins is a much beloved film by just about everyone. It's funny, adorable, spooky, scary, and riddled with cool beasties. What's not to like? Talk of a third feature in the franchise has been going on for a while now, and though absolutely nothing has come from it, today there was one pinpoint of light to be seen through all the negative darkness.
Welcome back to the second entry of Dread Central's Six Slays of Christmas feature! We're now just five little days away from the year's biggest holiday season, and to celebrate the coming of Saint Nick (or whomever you believe in), we'll be taking a look at a different yuletide horror flick each day until the 25th! Think of it as a cinema crazed Advent calendar!
The Mogwai must be kept away from bright light, never made wet and never, ever be fed after midnight. Not so sure if those rules apply to NECA's new plastic renditions of these adorably evil creatures but they're so lifelike they just might!
There's been talk of a third Gremlins movie for a while now. Possibly in 3D. Still, there's been nothing really solid to report on ... except for this little nugget of news from franchise director Joe Dante.
A little more clarification has come down from the man himself, Steven Spielberg, about whether or not we can be expecting to see Gremlins 3D anytime in the near future.
We've all been patiently waiting. We have hoped, we have prayed, and we have dreamed about a third Gremlins film. Now, there seems to be a bit of possible movement on the sequel front that will find these devilishly lovable creatures popping off the screen and into our laps.
Back in September NECA acquired the majority of the assets of WizKids, Inc., from The Topps Company, Inc., including the award-winning Clix family of games. What does that mean for horror fans? Two potentially awesome new games: Gremlins: Gizmo's Great Escape and Freddy vs. Jason: Forest of Fear. Read on for more details on each.
A new month; a new batch of DVDs and Blu-rays to consider. We've used the phrase "mixed bag" a few times before this year, but never has it been more apropos than with regard to those discs that are being released on December 1st, 2009!
Tonight horror fans got the rare chance to relive their childhood at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, which hosted a Joe Dante double feature of his 1984 creature feature masterpiece Gremlins that was followed up with his 1990 sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
Stumbled across these listings that can't even be found on the
Jun Planning website and were not even shown at NY Toyfair!
Since we’ve not had a new It Came From the Internet in a while and it’s a slow news day (seems everyone wants to talk about the Poltergeist remake more than anything else), here’s something to both keep you busy for 7 minutes and take your mind off unwanted remakes.
The official site for one of our favorite conventions on the East Coast,
Rock and Shock (we can’t have just one favorite, sorry), just updated with the first confirmed guests for the 2008 show, which goes down October 10th-12th in Worcester, MA.
