Sometimes a remake might not be a bad thing. Sure, we've seen plenty of bad ones, made for really bad reasons, but then there are filmmakers out there that just want to improve on an original and sometimes succeed.

Remake
New Pics from The Wolf Man Set!
For a change, it looks like the next two years may have remakes we horror fans actually want to see. Shocking, I know. While there are some stinkers and iffy titles on the way, The Wolf Man stands out mainly because of the talented cast assembled for the project ... and we haven't had too many good werewolf films in recent memory.

The Fury Next on the Remake Block
First Sisters, now The Fury. Brian DePalma’s early work seem ripe for re-imagining (oh, God I hate that word) in today’s Hollywood. But at least they were smart with Sisters and got Doug Buck behind it. How much do you wanna bet the same doesn’t happen with The Fury?

What the Hell? A Hell Night Remake?!
I sure am glad I turned down that lifetime subscription to Entertainment Weekly. The magazine shot out some news recently that is sure to infuriate horror fans but most likely guarantee a huge box office success just like we saw with the new Prom Night (review).

Nana Visitor is Pamela Voorhees
There's going to be grit! There's going to be dirt! There's going to be a beautiful woman who was once the fantasy of many "Star Trek" fans! Ah, Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13th has added someone to the cast to kinda be excited about!

Barker on Hell, Thief & Gospels
If this were a just universe, studios would buy the movie rights to make an adaptation of Clive Barker’s work and then just step back and let the man do whatever needed to be done to make sure it turned out right. It is not, sadly, so Barker just has to go with the flow, even if it means the two guys who were supposed to remake Hellraiser, two guys he liked a lot, are removed and he has no say as to who does do it.

Aja Reflects On Mirrors
The idea of yet another Asian horror remake, especially from a French director, doesn’t exactly thrill anyone. But it’s a different story when the man pulling the strings is Alexandre Aja.

Sound the Sirens! A Trailer Approaches!
Sony has just released a trailer of the new Siren game, revealing some very striking graphics, some great music and lots of Silent Hill-esque overtones. Seems like this supposed remake is going the route of The Grudge, inserting a few American characters into the horrible events taking place in Japan, and based on the combination of English and Japanese dialogue, it’s something I hope they don’t change.

Troll Remake Looking for its Potter
Even though it’s been a while since we've heard anything about John Carl Buechler’s remake of his own 1986 film, Troll, that doesn’t mean the project is dead in the water. Indeed, casting is now in full swing and the search for Harry Potter, Jr. has begun!

Siren Remake Stumbles Out of Nowhere...
Siren was a pretty unique little horror game. Released on the PS2, the game had a Ju-On- esque structure and a gameplay dynamic that let you “sight jack”; in other words you could see what other people, or in fact, the monsters roaming around the Japanese landscapes could see. Rather than focusing on combat, the game focused on stealth, so the ability to know exactly what someone else was looking at was pretty useful.
