Last week we told you about a pretty cool upcoming event where you can watch Mike Flanagan's Absentia (review here) on Constellation.tv with Flanagan hosting it live via webcam. Now we have your chance to see it for free!

We've made no bones about the fact that Mike Flanagan's Absentia (review here) was among our favorite films of last year. If you haven't had a chance to check it out for yourself yet, then mark your calendar for February 2nd as Flanagan will be hosting an online screening and Q&A of the film that evening.

One film we're really anxious to get our claws into is without question the latest from director Don Coscarelli, John Dies at the End. In honor of its upcoming premiere at Sundance, we've got a brand new, and very memorable, one-sheet for you to take a swing at!

This one is probably more thriller than horror, but the synopsis does say "mysterious" events occur, and once we got a look at the genre-heavy cast members, we figured we'd share the new teaser trailer for Human Factor that landed in our inbox today and send ol' 2011 out with a bit of social consciousness.

Just the other day I had a message from Kelly Parks, a writer/producer at Unconventional Films, telling me about the web series Universal Dead. We're just a month away from the January 19th start of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, and another horror film has been added to the Park City at Midnight category: the highly anticipated John Dies at the End, written and directed by genre legend Don Coscarelli based on David Wong's novel.

One of the big happenings at this year's Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, was Don Coscarelli's appearance in promotion of his new film, John Dies at the End. While the scene shown at the event is still being kept under wraps, you can now check out video of just about everything else. Dig it!

Things have been awfully quiet on the front of Don Coscarelli's latest film, John Dies at the End, but lo and behold the first imagery of the flick's cast has made its way online. Dig it!

While I'm not exactly sure what to make of this upcoming horror/comedy based off the bizarre plot synopsis, I can say that it's something I would certainly enjoy seeing. Especially when some really talented genre folk have already signed on.

American World Pictures, an LA-based independent motion picture distribution and production company, is gearing up for the 2011 Cannes Film Festival with updated info on three of its genre acquisitions in this year's line-up: Jack the Reaper, Boggy Creek, and Spirit Hunters promise to be big sellers for the company at the fest.
