Hellboy 2: The Golden Army

There weren't a lot of horror films honored during the 35th Annual Saturn Awards, presented by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films, but those that were certainly are deserving.

Sorry it’s a day late, I hope some of you can eventually find a way to forgive me, but here are your horror DVD choices for Tuesday, November 11th, 2008!

I know you guys can’t wait for Hellboy II: The Golden Army to finally hit DVD, so to hold you over till the film’s release next Tuesday (that’s November 11th, by the way), we’ve got a quartet of clips from some of the special features on the disc in Video Dread!

Those madmen with their electronic toys, namely Andrew Kasch and David Rosiak, pummeled the horror celebs making their way down the red carpet at last Saturday’s Scream Awards 2008 and have submitted the video evidence to prove their badassness!

Today IGN got the lowdown on what we can expect from the three different version of Hellboy II: The Golden Army on home video we told you about earlier this month, but we had no idea just how long the list of supplements would be for those willing to fork out a few extra bucks on November 11th.

Finally, news on the Hellboy II: The Golden Army DVD has come out, though it seems like it was just the other day we were raving about our first time seeing it.

Though it takes us abut a half hour to finally get to discussing the NBC anthology show Fear Itself, when it is brought up the pure, dripping hatred Uncle Creepy holds inside that twisted thing he calls a heart for it is more than worthy of giving this DFF its title. It's scary!

As our Comic Con gallery continues to grow (something tells me it’s not done yet), we keep seeing more and more cool shit we have to bring to your guys’ attention. This morning it is Death.

I know you guys were enjoying our seemingly endless stream of images from the floor of Comic Con today, but just cause we stopped doing stories doesn’t mean there’s not more to show off! We just opened the official San Diego Comic Con 2008 gallery, where you’ll find a ton of images we never showed you today, new looks at different figures and some very cool surprises!

Mezco Toys sure didn't hold back at this year's San Diego Comic-Con! The company's Cinema of Fear line just grew with the inclusion of new figures of Freddy, Jason, Leatherface and more! Did I mention that one of Mezco's new 12" figures is based on the Platinum Dunes remake of Friday the 13th?! The Mezco booth also showed off the second series of figures from the Hellboy II: The Golden Army line.

Issue #80 July 2008

With San Diego Comic Con only a week away (July 23-27th), we are getting pelted with information on the show from all sides. It’s now become impossible to buy even half of the exclusives on sale there, as you’d have to be rich AND some are so limited, you’d need a small army just to stand in line for you.

I bet Universal’s pretty happy with itself right now for stepping in when Sony couldn’t be bothered with the Hellboy franchise. Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army (review) kicked some serious ass at the box office this weekend, to the tune of $35.9 million.
